The Situation In Rehab for Alcohol Problem for 'Jersey Shore'

The Situation is in rehab not just for prescription drugs, but also for alcohol, TMZ has learned, and this turn of events could pose big problems for next season's "Jersey Shore."

Sources involved in the situation (sorry) tell us ... the Situation went through detox at a facility before he checked into Cirque Lodge in Utah, and the detox involved alcohol.

Our sources also say The Sitch is "very open" with other patients at Cirque about his drinking.  He discusses how his club appearances escalated his alcohol use.

Now here's the problem for "Jersey Shore."  The Situation and alcohol have been tied at the hip for 5 seasons.  If the show allows The Situation to fall off the wagon to make the show better in season 6, they will look like crass enablers.  If they don't let him drink, there's a good chance they will lose viewers.


Mike is now in rehab in Utah for alcohol detox.  this article brings the question did jersey shore make the situation an alcoholic or was it destine to happen anyways?  It seems like Jersey Shore has a strong alcohol influence and they would go to clubs constantly and drink.  Naturally this kind of behavior is going to cause issues with drugs and alcohol but the concern of the media is if Mike succeeds in fixing his drinking problem will Jersey Shore viewers lose interest in the show due to not as much drinking and crazy activity? I think Jersey Shore should be discontinued because it is a bad influence to begin with.  Mike not drinking would be good for the show, but viewers feed on the craziness it brings.  I don't think this show should be on air at all anymore considering the obvious alcohol problems many of the people on the show are getting and Snooki being pregnant i think it's safe to say the people on this show are in need for a reality check and need to stop embarrassing themselves in front of the cameras.  It is great Snooki is pregnant, and it is great Mike is in rehab getting himself help.  This show will simply just encourage them to go back to their bad habits.  I do not believe this show should be continued at all.  It is just hurting the young people watching it and the people in the show, making viewers believe that it is reality when it is completely distorted and set up.  This show is not a positive influence on anyone but an embarrassment to the stupidity of our generation.
